Literacy Development
Literacy, particularly in English, is a critical challenge in South Africa and many developing countries. Teachers widely believe that literacy—encompassing reading, comprehension, writing, and communication—is key to solving many educational issues. Traditional teaching methods often fail to reach all students, and schools, especially in rural areas, lack the resources to foster a culture of reading. Many schools have limited or no access to libraries, and reading is confined to brief periods during literacy classes. The result is that learners are not adequately prepared for the information age, with many reading far below grade level.

Library Building and Resource Provision :
